About Us
From the USA to Portugal
Hello! We are the Exploring Family: Jaye, Cody, Bubb, Peanut, and JellyBean. In September 2023 we immigrated from the USA to Portugal on the Digital Nomad in order to find a safer place to raise our kids. Our goal is to explore as much of this beautiful country as possible and share it with everyone along the way.
Our Story
We had a desire to live a better life. One not surrounded by gun violence and political tension. Somewhere we could find a quiet little corner of the world to call our own and enjoy a little peace and quiet. Our journey brought us to a little mountain village in central Portugal where we have started to lay down our roots on a little farm we have purchased.

Along for the ride are our three kids. Our son, Bubb, was 10 years old when we made the move. Daughters Peanut and JellyBean were 8 and 6 years old respectively. We made the move for them, so they could grow up in a place free from violence and active shooter drills. They, too, have fallen in love with Portugal and the immense freedom living in a safe environment has given them. If you ask them, they only ever want to go back for summer camp. :)
